BOOK DONATIONS

We accept just about any kind of book including hard cover, large and trade paperbacks and mass paperbacks. Also popular with patrons are CD’s, DVDs and books-on-CD and comic books.  Items not accepted are sets of encyclopedias and National Geographic magazines.

  • If you have a small donation (a few books/bags/up to 4 boxes), please use the book donation bins in the outdoor service/delivery area of the library in the northeast corner of the building. They are clearly marked for book/CD/other media donations for the Napa Friends of the Library. They are available 24/7.
  • Because of limited space and volunteers, if your donation exceeds the space in our bins (see above), please contact Book Sale Manager, Bruce Taylor at 707.253.4614 to schedule a time to bring us your donation.
  • If you are unable to get the books to us or have a really large donation, we have a volunteer who can come to you to collect them. Call our Book Sale Manager, Bruce Taylor to schedule a pick up. Please be prepared to give us an idea of the size and type of donation so we know who to send.

MONETARY DONATIONS

The funds we raise by selling donated books and other materials support various programs at the Napa County Library. Examples of these programs can be found on our About Page. Specific information about what Childrens programs we currently sponsor can be found on our News Page in the article titled “Where The Money Goes!”.  If you are interested in supporting the library and its programs through the Friends of the Library but don’t have any books to donate or if you want to do more than donate books to sell, we encourage you to make a monetary donation.  We appreciate any and all donations and encourage members and non-members alike to help us with our  mission to enhance the public’s experience at the Napa library.  And it is so easy… just click on the Make a Monetary Donation button on the right hand side of any page on our site.

DONATE AND RECEIVE A FREE MEMBERSHIP…
As of June 1, 2022,  if you make a monetary donation of $250 – $499 you will receive a complimentary one year membership or membership extension. And if you make a monetary of $500 or more, you will receive a complimentary two year membership or membership extension. We do this to recognize the important work we do supporting library programs and how your donations make this work possible.
