On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Mountain Mike’s is hosting a fundraiser for the Friends of the Napa Library!

Join us at the local Mountain Mike’s Pizza restaurant at 1501 Trancas Street in Napa on Sunday, July 14 from 11am – 9pm to raise funds for our children’s summer reading programs. 20% of your order will be donated to the Friends. Invite your friends, neighbors and co-workers.

• Hot summer day? Let them fire up their ovens and keep your kitchen cool!
• Don’t feel like leaving home? They  deliver!
• Volunteered to bring a dish to a party? How easy can it get?

Our next book sale will be held Saturday, April 13 through Sunday, April 21.  Please note below the change in hours for Sunday, April 21 (Bag Day #2). We continue to receive book, CD and DVD donations from you, our generous community. It is always exciting to discover the varied and extensive interests of local readers, movie fans and music lovers.  Our book sales are the perfect way to move your collections along to new fans and/or discover your newest pursuit. Remember during COVID when our regular book sales weren’t possible so we sold boxes of books from our back door? We are running out of room as we await our April multi-day book sale. So we decided to do it again and sell them by the box by category. The categories include:

Because this is such a good deal, we have to have a few ground rules…
* Inventory is limited in some categories so it is first come-first served.
* All boxes are bought “as-is”.
* No sorting or swapping books. Open the boxes at home to discover your treasures.
* We reuse the boxes from sale to sale, we ask that you return them to us, if possible.

Ever curious about how much we have raised? Well… here is a snapshot of the total we have contributed to the Napa Library since our inception in 1973.

In the past 50 years, we have steadily increased our donations to the Napa County Library, reaching a total of $1,707,906.  Pretty impressive isn’t it?!

YOU can help us continue this fantastic growth in funding library programs.  We rely on your donations of gently used books, CDs, DVDs, Books on CDs, jigsaw puzzles and other media and, of course, financial support.  Methods of donations can be found in the righthand banner on this page. Please join us in any way you are able.

The race is on!  You only have the month of December remaining to participate in this annual giving event. The 2023 Give!Guide annual giving event officially kicked off on Wednesday, November 1st. The giving window for this year is November 1 – December 31. Using the 2023 Give!Guide makes it easy to donate to the Friends of the Napa Library (FOL) as well as 75 other Napa County nonprofit organizations. Need another incentive to make a donation?  This year we are offering a Special Opportunity in the form of a Friends of the Napa Library Wine Gift Basket.  Every donor will be entered into a drawing to win and on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 5pm PST, one lucky donor will be selected to receive this exciting gift basket.

Want to know where your donation goes?  We support many of the community programs at the Napa Library as well as many children’s programs.  Visit our post “Where the Money Goes” to learn about the programs you support with your donations. Recently, we were able to fund the Memory Lab located by the Reference Desk at the Napa County Library. In it you will find computers, printers, scanners and software to organize your family’s photos and documents and create exciting ways to share those memories with others.

We are honored to be one of the 76 local non-profit organizations participating in the 2023 Give!Guide. CanDo created this giving vehicle to provide Napa a single location to support the nonprofit community.
