June Booksale is Here!

April 9, 2023

Our June Booksale is upon us!!

Summer comes with no school (if you are lucky), vacations, warm weather, swimming pools and fun with your friends. What better way to enjoy the summer than to stock up on your summer reading. Whether you are a parent with children looking for something to do or students who like a little escape from all of the activity of summer or someone who looks forward to their beach chair, a frosty beverage and a good book, we have the answer!

Join us on Saturday, June 10th through Sunday, June 18th in the Community Room at the Napa County Library. We continue to receive donations of great summer reading choices for adults and children. Speaking of children, remember that every student or child (age 0- ?) can pick out 3 free books every day they visit the book sale. What a great way to build your library!

Speaking of building a library, we received a generous donation of Chinese and Japanese Art Books which will be available for sale at the June sale. Stop by and check them out!

Following are our booksale hours:
Saturday, June 10 (Members’ Day)  10am – 4pm
Sunday, June 11  1pm – 4pm
Monday, June 12  10am – 7pm
Tuesday, June 13  10am – 7pm
Wednesday, June 14  10am – 7pm
Thursday, June 15  10am – 7pm
Friday, June 16 (Half Price Day)  10am – 5pm
Saturday, June 17 (Bag Day #1 – fill one bag of books for $5)  10am – 4pm
Sunday, June 18 (Bag Day #2 – fill two bags of books for $5)  1pm – 4pm

You are the key to our success! You are who keeps our mission going… you shop at our sales and you donate you books, CD’s and DVD’s that we then sell to your fellow shoppers. Or if you are like one of our frequent shoppers…you buy back a book you donated! We can’t do this without you!!

SEE YOU AT THE SALE!

What’s Happening!!

January 17, 2023

We recently received a request from Enhanced Patient Services at the Napa State Hospital. They coordinate volunteers to augment and help meet patients basic needs for social interaction,  self esteem and self fulfillment.  They also track fundraising activites for activities to supplement the education, recreation and entertainment needs of NSH patients.

They were in need of books for their Spanish speaking patients.  In particular one of their patients reads Spanish but cannot hear.  Finding books suitable for this patient will give him a way to keep his mind busy and entertained.  We received a wonderful email from them, thanking us for the Spanish language story books, Spanish learning/dictionaries and even an AA Diary book.

It never ceases to amaze us how books help us reach so many different Napa communities.  Your donation of books, CD’s and DVD as well as monetary contributions as well as membership in the Friends of the Library allow us to continue our service to our Napa neighb0rs.
