The Friends of the Library would like to thank everyone who made our latest booksale a huge success. The sale wound up on Sunday, May 17 after 9 days of sales. Day One is reserved for Members (yes, you can join/renew on Members Day) and is usually the biggest sale day in books sold, dollars earned and customers served. As the sale continues, there are daily specials for members. We continue to restock inventory until we have shelved and/or sold all the books donated for the sale. The sale ends up with Half Price Friday, Bag Day Saturday (all books you can fit in a shopping bag for $5) and Two Bag Day Sunday (all books you can fit in two shopping bags for $5).
In particular we would like to thank Trader Joe’s and Vallergas for donating shopping bags. Both stores have supported us for many years and we appreciate their generosity. Whether a shopper thinks they are only browsing and end up with an armful of books or forgets the shopping bags they always bring into a store, these two establishments provide bags for their use. So while we can’t thank Vallergas directly, please give Trader Joe’s your thanks next time you shop there.
And of course we would like to thank all of the volunteers who sort, clean, box, move, unbox, shelf and sell the books. Book donations happen every day and our volunteers sort, clean and organize them for storage between sales. A crew of volunteers sets up for the sale on the days before one begins and keeps the shelves stocked during the sale as well as breaking the shelves down after the sale ends. And those friendly folks who ring up your sales are also volunteers.
