Oh what a night! On Tuesday, September 9, FOL was the recipient of The Fink’s Tuesday night FINKO event – a weekly fundraising opportunity to benefit a local nonprofit.
FOL’s friends, members and regular FINKO players packed the house for a night of food, drink, laughter, music, prizes. If they were lucky enough to have the right combination of letters and numbers, they called out “FINKO!”.
This fun game of chance rewarded 13 players with prizes of wine, gift cards and a cookbook but only if they called out “FINKO!”. Shouting out BINGO! got the caller nowhere. Such is the the game of FINKO, BINGO at The Fink.
Because of the audience’s generosity, FOL raised $800. These funds, combined with FOL’s book sales, donations and membership dues, provide the Napa County Library with resources for the Summer Reading Adventure, the adult lecture series, English as a Second Language training and many, many more programs supported throughout the year.
To those who were there, THANK YOU! To those who support FOL, we couldn’t do what we do without you so, THANK YOU! And to Judd Finkelstein, host and Finko caller extraordinaire, and his incredible staff, a HUGE THANK YOU! Your community service and support of local nonprofits is unmatched.

Do you remember favorites from when you first learned to read? Do you remember the first classic book that grabbed your attention? Do you periodically revisit them from time to time? Are you always in search of a new book, genre or author? How many books are you reading at the same time?
Books let us visit far off places, meet historical and current famous or infamous characters. They can help teach us the skills we need to advance in life. They help us relax on a beautiful sunny day and they take us away on a rainy winter afternoon. Whatever they do for you, the Friends of the Napa Library is your source for new and favorite treasures.
So how about visiting the Friends of the Napa Library Multi-day Book Sale in the Community Room at the Napa County Library! We have an incredible selection of books, CD’s and DVD’s donated by you, our generous community of book lovers. We restock books throughout the first half of the sale so just because you shopped during the early days doesn’t mean you won’t found that perfect item when you shop on a later day.
*Member’s Day is just that…one must be a member to shop on the first day of our sales. Avoid the crowds and click HERE to join/renew using our Membership payment link.
