Friends of the Napa Library has launched its October membership drive to celebrate the 13th annual National Friends of Libraries Week, October 21-27.
Join online now through October 31 or stop by our membership table in the library lobby afternoons to closing from Monday, October 22, through Saturday, October 27. Those joining this week will be entered in an opportunity drawing for a new eReader. Those who join in the library lobby or purchase a book from the Friends lobby sales shelf during this time are also eligible to vote for their favorite library program. Ballots will be available at the membership table. The winning program will receive funds from the week’s FOL lobby sales. Click here to join online.
The winning library program and the winner of the new eReader will be announced at the FOL board meeting on November 14. We will notify the winner directly and post the results here. So check back after November 14!
All memberships are for the entire family and entitle any member to attend the first day, “members only day”, of each quarterly book sale plus its daily specials. When you join, 100 percent of your membership fee ($15 a year/ $30 for two years) goes to support library programs as do the proceeds from our book sales. See below to learn what childrens programs we currently support.
FOL volunteers work year-round to make donated books available to the entire community through our quarterly nine-day books sales; online sales; and daily library lobby sales in the downtown library, 580 Coombs Street.
National Friends of Libraries Week is coordinated by United for Libraries, a division of the American Library Association with approximately 4,000 personal and group members representing hundreds of thousands of library supporters. United for Libraries supports those who govern, promote, advocate, and fundraise for libraries, and brings together library trustees, advocates, friends, and foundations into a partnership that creates a powerful force for libraries in the 21st century.
