A Big Thank You to Give!Guide Donors

January 20, 2020

The Friends of the Napa Library would like to thank all of our Friends and the community for their generous donations through this year’s Give!Guide campaign. We recongize that there are many very worthy organizations participating in this year’s program so being the beneficiary of so many donations was very rewarding.

This was the first year that we participated in the Give!Guideand we very much enjoyed the experience. At the kick off event we were able to meet our fellow participants as well as community memebers. Our outreach at the Napa Farmers Market and appearance on KVON as well as Spanish language annoucements allowed us to bring our message to more community members. We would like to thank the Napa Farmers Market, our fellow Give!Guideparticipant, for providing space and encouraging outreach.

All in all we are more than satisfied with this year’s campaign and hope to participate next year and expand our aibility to fund programs for the Napa Library.

The 2019 CanDo’s Give!Guide Napa Valley is Here!

November 4, 2019

Click on this image to visit the entire CanDo Give!Guide website!

The Friends of the Napa Library is delighted to be participating in this year’s CanDo’s Give!Guide. We join 45 other remarkable local non-profits that were selected by Napa Valley CanDo to participate in this extraordinary vehicle for fund raising, community support and collaboration.

We are tasked primarily to raise funds to support both new and on-going library programs for both children and adults. To get a good look at what happens with the fruits of our labors and what programs we fund, please see Where The Money Goes. Our main sources of funding are memberships and book sales. In addition to our 10 day quarterly book sales of gently used books, CDs and DVDs, we also offer these items for sale year round in the lobby of the Napa City Library.

It takes many people, mainly volunteers, to make us successful. Volunteers serve in a wide range of capacities including sorting and cleaning books for the sales, organizing and staffing the quartely sales, community outreach and serving on our board.

A particularly important goal of Friends of the Library is to encourage young readers to become lifelong readers. As evidenced by the library programs we support, we believe that getting children to love books turns them into teens who love books which results in adult book lovers. And the cycle continues from generation to generation!

Please continue your visit to our site to familiarize yourself on who we are and what we do.

We encourage you to visit our page on CanDo’s Give!Guide website to show your support for our mission and the Napa residents we serve. Click here to be taken to our page at this incredible resource for giving.
