The Friends of the Napa Library participated in the Napa Community Open House and Emergency Preparedness Fair held on Tuesday, June 4th.
Attendees at the Fair were greeted by 45 information tables, representing 11 of the County Departments. Information on disaster preparedness was available to all in English and Spanish. Along with the preparedness theme, there were representatives from the Napa Library. The Library staff signed up 105 children, teen & adult logs and 5 week logs for summer reading and made 20 new library cards.
The Friends of the Napa Library (FOL) staffed a table that featured free book giveaways for children. We gave away five (yes 5!) boxes of children’s books during the three hour fair. Those who were young-at-heart also enjoyed browsing the books. The Friends is frequently invited to community events to share books and the love of reading with the communty. Our next event is the Library’s Summer Reading event held on Tuesday, July 30 at the Elk’s Club. Click here for more information.
A wonderFOL time was had by all!
